RAMGARH: In a bid to strengthen public trust and instill fear among lawbreakers, the Ramgarh District Police has launched a unique initiative titled ‘Prahari Pahal’. Despite the scorching heat, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Lunayat led from the front, conducting a foot march alongside several station in-charges to kickstart the campaign.
The ‘Prahari’ initiative is designed to increase police visibility and accessibility. Speaking to the media, SP Lunayat emphasized that the primary goal is to make common citizens feel safe while ensuring that criminals have no place to hide.
The Three-Pronged Strategy:
-
Foot Patrolling: Officers will regularly patrol markets, educational institutions, and crowded public spaces.
-
Crackdown on Loitering: Strict action will be taken against anti-social elements gathering at checkpoints or ‘addas’.
-
Anti-Crime Checks: Intensive vehicle and person searching will be conducted to curb criminal movements.
The department has identified 76 strategic routes based on crime patterns and public suggestions. A formalized route chart will be managed directly by the SP office. Furthermore, every police station in the district is now mandated to conduct foot patrols at least twice a week. This initiative also aims to tackle daily issues like eve-teasing, illegal parking, and encroachments, ensuring a holistic improvement in the city’s law and order.
