New Attraction for Visitors at Tata Steel Zoological Park

Jamshedpur, 17 September 2024 – Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) today announced the public display of its new attraction, Plains Zebras. These beautiful zebras were released today in a temporary enclosure by Jamshedpur’s Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Shaba Alam Ansari, adding to the diverse wildlife collection of the park. These attractive zebras will enchant visitors with their unique appearance and playful nature.

Several exotic birds were also released during the event, including colourful blue and yellow macaws, Galah Cockatoos, and Orange Winged. The release of these unique birds gave visitors an opportunity to experience the diversity and beauty of birds live. These beautiful creatures will make the education and entertainment experience even more special for wildlife lovers and general visitors.

During the event, Divisional Forest Officer Shaba Alam Ansari underlined the importance of environmental conservation and motivated the citizens of Jamshedpur to actively participate in green drives. On this special occasion, she also planted a tree under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” activity as part of the “Swachhata Hi Sewa” campaign. The initiative, launched by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, aims to promote tree plantation and ensure environmental sustainability.

The guests of honour on the occasion included Captain Amitabh, Honorary Secretary, Tata Steel Zoological Park; Dr. Manik Palit, Deputy Director (Veterinary); and Dr. Naeem Akhtar, Deputy Director (General Administration).

During the event, Captain Amitabh expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the DFO and emphasised the role of Tata Steel Zoological Park in wildlife conservation and its commitment to connect people with nature. He said that from today, new zebras and exotic birds are being displayed for the public, allowing visitors to admire the beauty of these amazing creatures. He urged the community to enjoy the grandeur of these unique creatures as well as understand the importance of environmental conservation, so that we can ensure a better and greener future for the coming generations.
