Meat Samples from KSR Railway Station Clarified to be Goat Meat, Not Dog Meat
Bengaluru: In response, the officials working as food safety departments reassured that the meat seized in KSR railway station of the city on Saturday were goat meat and one type of Sirohi breed not the most disgusting dog meat as the right-wing activist Puneet Karehalli upheld.
The meat was brought from Rajasthan to fulfill the demand of mutton in Bengaluru and commissioner of food safety, K Srinivas said that after conducting tests there was no sign of dog meat. The Sirohi breed that is predominant in Rajasthan and Gujarat has certain unmistakable features namely; spots all over its body and a very long tail leading to the confusion.
The conflict started on the Friday evening when Karehalli raised a fuss at the KSR railway station claiming that a huge quantity of dog meat had been transported. Though, food safety officials interviewed on the issue noted that the contaminated meat is safe to eat and complies with all the legal requirements.
