The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested an Assistant Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the capital Delhi for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh.

The arrested ED officer has been identified as Sandeep Singh Yadav. He was taking bribe from a jeweler in exchange for giving relief to his son in a case registered in the ED. A senior CBI official has confirmed that the ED officer has been arrested from Lajpat Nagar area of ​​Delhi. The CBI received a complaint and acting on it, a trap was laid and the ED officer was caught red-handed taking bribe.

Officials said that the CBI is in the process of registering an FIR in this case. Further action will be taken after the FIR is registered.
