The air is filled with devotion as the big festival of faith, Chhath, kicks off. In Sheikhpura district of Bihar, the old Dal Kuan in the town council area has once again grabbed everyone’s attention.

On October 26, at Dal Kuan in Sheikhpura, Bihar, people are buzzing with energy for Chhath Puja. This spot is key because folks use its water to make the special offering called Lohanda or Khana prasad.

This well is thought to be really old. As per local customs, the prasad for Chhath is made only with water from here. From early morning, devotees show up with buckets, pots, trays, and other containers to collect the water with full respect.

One devotee shared, “We come here every year to get water for making Khana prasad. This water is seen as pure, and using it makes the worship complete.”

From what we hear, about half the people in Sheikhpura town use Dal Kuan’s water for their Chhath offerings. This habit has been going on for years, and during the festival, a huge crowd gathers here.

Locals say the history of Dal Kuan goes way back, and it still stands as a lively sign of belief, trust, and old ways.
