President Draupadi Murmu will chair a two-day Governors’ Conference at Rashtrapati Bhavan from today. This conference will be the first conference of Governors under the chairmanship of the President.

Governors of all states will attend the meeting. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ashwini Vaishnav and Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will also participate in the conference.
The Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog and senior officials of the Cabinet Secretariat in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs will also be present in the meeting.
The agenda of the conference will include implementation of three criminal laws, reforms in higher education and accreditation of universities and development of selected areas. Many other important topics including the role of governors in campaigns and better coordination between various central agencies in the states will also be discussed.
