AAP MP Sanjay Singh confirmed on his X (formerly Twitter) handle that while AAP would not contest the elections, Kejriwal’s campaign support for MVA candidates signifies AAP’s strategic alignment against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Mahayuti alliance, which includes factions of NCP and Shiv Sena.
Delhi government minister and senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj elaborated on the decision, stating, “We were offered a seat, reflecting the graciousness of our alliance partners. However, AAP’s principle is not to contest for the sake of contesting or for ego. We aim to participate where we can significantly impact BJP’s performance.” This move underscores AAP’s tactical withdrawal to bolster MVA’s chances against BJP.
