Union Budget 2024-2025 discussed in Rajya Sabha, employment, inflation debated by members of the parliament
The Rajya Sabha has started a discussion on the Union Budget 2024-2025 with leaders of different political parties questioning on unemployment, inflation and alleged state discrimination. Starting the debate, P Chidambaram of Congress said that problems like unemployment and inflation remain unconquered, while the Production Linked Incentive scheme has not to create enough employment in the country.
Chidambaram also questioned the government’s Employment Linked Incentive scheme in the Union’s Budget and criticized that the Finance Minister paid very little attention to inflation in her speech. He asked for minimum wages, MSP assurance, rejection of the Agnipath recruitment system, and exclusion of the NEET test.
On the other hand, we have BJP MP Dr Radhan Mohan Das Aggarwal who exclusively showed the progress made in the last ten years under the leadership of Prime Minister Shirt Narendra Modi. Criticising the Government’s policies and programmes, he named the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, free tap connections in rural areas.
He also tagged the UPA government responsible for the condition and said that the fiscal deficit has wiped from more than ten percent in 2012-13 to around five percent at present. He also pointed out that per capita income has also gone up under the current dispensation.
It is continuous, MP belonging to different parties will raise their issues and views on the Union Budget 2024-2025.
