Thiruvananthapuram, July 30, 2024: Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in Kerala, with landslides reported in Wayanad, Idukki, and Palakkad districts. The death toll in the Wayanad landslide has risen to 8, with 40 injured persons admitted to the hospital.

The Mundakkayil and Attamala areas in Wayanad district remain completely cut off, with rescue efforts underway. NDRF personnel have been deployed, and the state government has sought help from the IAF, with two helicopters expected to arrive soon to airlift trapped persons.
