 Vikrant Massey doesn’t want to be called ‘box office star’ even after 12th Fail which is doing great business; he says ‘ek inning mein khelke … ’

This man Vikrant Massey striking Bollywood door with his outstanding performance in Lootera with Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the same year 2013 is now recognized personality in Bollywood. His one and only 2023 techno-comedy film, 12th Fail, proved to be one of the biggest hits of his career and was acclaimed among both critics and the viewers. Vikrant recently said, it is good that 12th Fail succeeded yet he doesn’t think he is a ‘box-office hero’.

More than ever, in the latest interaction in an interview with Mashable India, Vikrant Massey has stated that he now knows it was a big and peculiar achievement in his career. Vikrant shows his gratitude towards to the audience for showing all the love respect towards the movie 12th Fail.

“When I began preparing for the shoot of the film, there used to be some doubts that film was entering cinema were valid because there were a number of actual people out there and not actors.’’ ‘I still do not have the status of a box office star, I still have to go a long way before attaining that ‘, he added.

The Blackout actor revealed that he will still feel that he is not a ‘box office star’ despite 12th Fail’s success, not until he hits 5-7 more films in the future.

Referring to the stress of expectation Vikrant added that he considers it as the bare minimum and he hopes it to happen in the next five years when he would be sitting pretty with several movies to look forward to. The 12th Fail actor also opined that bankability can never be had with a single film but established on the large screens.

For instance, Vikrant said that one cannot play an innings and then think that they are all over it, the reference being cricket. ”You cannot say wow in the manner you play the game, in a single inning,” he said.

12th Fail is directed, written and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, It was adapted from the novel of the same name of the year 2019 written by author Anurag Pathak. In this avenue, it looks at the life of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma who rose from an extremely poor background to accomplish this. It was released on October 27 last year and for those interested, the film can now be watched on Disney+Hotstar.

Concerning the works, Vikrant Massey has worked in the movies including Dil Dhadakne Do, A Death in the Gunj, Chhapaak, Haseen Dillruba, among others. He will now be seen in Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba – which is the sequel to last year’s Haseen Dillruba.
