India’s Cultural Extravaganza at ‘Pravasi Parichay’ Festival in Saudi Arabia
In a vibrant showcase of India’s cultural richness, the Embassy of India, in collaboration with local Indian associations and the Ministry of External Affairs’ Diaspora Engagement Division, launched the inaugural ‘Pravasi Parichay’ festival in Saudi Arabia. This event not only bridged cultural gaps but also fostered unity among the Indian diaspora, highlighting India’s diverse heritage.
Over 450 artists from 14 Indian states transformed the venue into a vibrant tableau of Indian culture. Each state set up pavilions, offering a deep dive into regional arts, cuisines, and traditions:

Punjab brought the lively Bhangra, resonating with its infectious rhythm.

Kerala presented the elegant Mohiniattyam, showcasing classical grace.

Rajasthan dazzled with Kalbelia, while Tamil Nadu featured traditional Parai and Bharatnatyam.

Andhra Pradesh performed the dramatic Mahishasur Mardini, and Telangana added the vibrant Marfa and Lambada dances.

The musical performances were equally diverse, with Uttar Pradesh enchanting audiences with Qawwali, contrasting with the modern rap from Telangana, reflecting India’s evolving artistic landscape.
