India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today, with the main function being held at the historic Red Fort in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hoisting the national flag and addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
The theme of this year’s Independence Day, “Developed India by 2047”, is reflecting the government’s commitment to making India a developed country by the year 2047.
Six thousand special guests are participating in the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort, including youth, tribal people, farmers, women, and other special guests who have done remarkable work in various fields with the help of government schemes and initiatives.
Among the guests are 250 farmers who have benefited from the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, 300 elected representatives of Gram Panchayats, 150 Lakhpati Didis, and 150 Drone Didis.
The Indian team participating in the Paris Olympics is also attending the function, along with around two thousand people from different states.
Three thousand winners of online competitions organized by the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with My-Gov and Akashvani are participating in the program, along with two thousand students from schools across the country.
The celebrations are underway, with the Prime Minister’s address and the flag-hoisting ceremony being the highlights of the event.
The nation is coming together to celebrate its independence, with patriotism and enthusiasm filling the air.
